Doug and Stella Scamman.
CONCORD - November 2007 - Stella and Doug Scamman of Stratham were recently recognized for their volunteer service for the New Hampshire Association for the Blind at a benefit concert in Manchester.
The concert, held at the Palace theatre on Friday evening, featured popular guitarist Jose Feliciano. Prior to Feliciano's performance, the couple were recognized. Bob Cholette, Chairman of the Board for the New Hampshire Association for the Blind praised the couple for their service and presented them with an engraved, cut crystal vase.
Doug Scamman, former Republican Speaker of the House served on the Association's Board of Directors for nine years and chaired the nominating and development committees. Stella has been on the Board since 1999. She currently serves on the development committee.
Over 500 people attended the benefit concert. Proceeds will support the programs and services of the New Hampshire Association for the Blind.
